emPOWERed Legacies was launched out of the HIV consulting work done by founder Kamaria Laffrey in 2013. Inspired by a large circle of influential health advocates and activists over the past years, Kamaria seeks to provide education, resources, and support to those impacted by not just HIV/AIDS but many other health, social and developmental issues that arise in a community. February 7, 2017 was be the anniversary of Kamaria sharing her testimony for the first time at Hurst Chapel AME Church in her hometown. This moment, this support launched and supported the work she continues to do. Utilizing social media, including the hashtags listed above, we believe in the promotion of action for change beyond the hashtag. The services offered by emPOWERed Legacies include referrals to medically trained professionals, personal/professional development training, program consultancy, speaking events and testimonial workshops through the ministry of Faith.Hope.Love. emPOWERed Legacies is in the process of working from the ground up in developing into a sustainable organization that will include helping people identify the power within themselves to redefine their legacy. Contact emPOWERed Legacies to work with you today!

Mission: At emPOWERed Legacies we believe in healing and destinies.  In order to embrace healing, we give inspiration and offer opportunities for empowerment.  By conducting workshops, developing advocacy skills and giving inspiration through lived experiences, we work to help others live victoriously beyond their diagnosis.

Vision: To develop emPOWERed Legacies into a sustainable organization as it seeks to address individuals past circumstances and empower them to overcome them, thus redefining their legacy.

Just watched your video and looked on your facebook and found you to be quite the inspiration. …I have just found out that I am HIV positive…I am finding it increasingly difficult to find a silver lining in all of this…Do you have any advice? I was thinking about going to talk to my families priest, but then I’m worried about this stigma attached to a HIV+ diagnosis!! Thank you for being so strong!

Kamaria’s professional demeanor and compassionate handling of situations which involve her gifts far bespeak her talents in the field to which God chose to place her. I fully recommend her as a Spokesperson, Mentor, Educator, Counselor, not including all her attribute; and, most of all, as a dedicated Christian and friend to all who need her regardless of their race, color or personal lives.

I just saw your video on YouTube & actually posted it to my page…I would love to have a conversation with you as I am also getting my head & self together to get my non-profit off the ground…thanks.

I saw a video about your story . I’m truly sorry what you’ve had to overcome, in saying that its good to know that there are people out there including yourself that are inherently good people, and try to help people regardless of what life throws at them. Don’t ever feel like you don’t matter in this world, because from what I’ve seen you’ve got more to offer than most, and I don’t like seeing good people be brought down. I hope that both the present and future is kind to you.

I just wanted to say “Thank-You” for taking the time to share your testimony with our students. Your faith in God shines bright and it means more than words to have that love conveyed to our students.

“Sharing your truth has had, and will continue to have, an impact bigger than you can even imagine. You’ve touched so many lives and inspired so many people...in ways you may not even know. Continue to shine your light, my friend. Continue to be bold. And continue to share your gifts. Can’t wait to read you book! “

Hi Ms. Kamaria…when we met I was a student at James S. Rickards High School when I had originally asked you to speak to my senior class. Unfortunately my principal changed the plans and you were not able to speak. I have not forgotten about you or your story. I am now a junior in college and I was wondering if you still speak to audiences and if you would be available to speak to our students. I can’t wait to work with you!
— Christina W., FL
I would like to thank you for being an inspiration. I never met anyone who was open about their status like that, and use it in such a positive matter. I’m still very much touched. We need more people like you, that teaches us to look at EVERY situation positively, no matter what the circumstances may be.”
— Jude D., FL
“I remember when you came to my high school and told your story. You are such a trailblazer. Thank you for your vulnerability.”
